INTERVIEW READY

Turns out graduating from college was the easy part – now you actually have to get that job you’ve been thinking of over the past 3-4 years. Selling yourself on paper to an employer who doesn’t yet know the glamour that is you is hard. Moreover, convincing them in an interview that you are the only choice for the job is harder. Getting the first impressions in your favour with an on-point interview outfit that will not only impress but, honestly, leave them wondering how they even made it this far without you.

I just finished master’s degree and got into the race of interviews. Getting dressed for interviews is so hard for me, I don’t know what to wear or if something will be appropriate. So, as a first step I decided to dig around on the company’s website and Facebook – just to get an idea of the overall feel of the company’s environment. Since I was applying for a creative position, I decided to keep my outfit a little subtle and monotonic. I chose to wear a long black dress that had some flower details at the top. Paired the chic dress with some pink studs and a nice elegant watch and white heeled shoes. I decided to put on some light pinkish lipstick, eyeliner and some subtle blush.

Remember, first impression is good, but you don’t want to get them distracted by your wardrobe! The most important thing to keep in mind when interviewing for your dream job is to stay true to yourself. Dress your best self on the outside and let your passion for your profession reflect in your conversation.
...XOXO...
